20212 Winter Training Cancellation Guide

We've created a plan for our strategy for cancelling winter sessions due to weather or excessive cold.  Please have a look at the "strip" to the right for an easy to read guide.

Of course, SAFETY is KEY!  If at any time, you do not feel safe traveling on Minnesota winter roads or in Minnesota winter conditions, please STAY HOME!

We built this as a guide and will do our best to monitor any and all weather fronts approaching.

Training Events

Please check back for training events.  Currently, the club has commitments for dome space beginning in November and a number of other sites for footskill, futsol and fitness training.

Additional events will be listed as they are confirmed.

It's All About The Touches...

High level soccer is not rocket science.  Yes, it required methodical planning and a deep understanding of the game and the skills sets necessary in many different situations.

But, at the core, technical training is all about the number of touches a player gets on the ball.  And, the number of correct touches is critical to successful development.

Most programs begin their sessions with less than ten minutes of individual or small group work with one or two soccer balls.  Then, they quickly move on to small sided or "situational play" where there is one ball to five, six or seven players.

The earlier in a session the number of players outnumber the number of soccer balls in play, the fewer touches players will get on a ball.   And, the sooner a session moves to "scrimmages" where the tendency is for more skilled players to have the ball at their feet, the players needing the touches most will see less and less.

This typical "play" model is one our Blast players development team replaced with high technical sets that build from one and two players to a ball up to six or seven.

Very few of our sessions end in a scrimmage, as these simply do not provide developing players with a number of touches to move their technical skills where they need to be to compete at higher levels of play.
