Besides being only the 3rd girls team to advance to USYSA National in 50 years, the Blast u19/u18 Team did something no other Minnesota team has done in 31 years at USYSA Nationals...WIN!  And they won big!

The Blast u19's took down the #1, #2 and #3 ranked teams in the country.  After beating an amazing team from Pennsylvania (PENN FC), the Blast went on to beat a Missouri rival, St. Louis Development Academy, 2-1 in the Final.  The team netted 15 goals for the tournament, conceding only three.

With several players returning and a u17 team that took home a US Club National Title the very same weekend, the team looks to add a few players and make another run at it next season.

According to coaches Seth and Josh Okoampa, "We are a development club, we develop players.  A National title is the result of very committed players willing to push each other to do a lot of hard work."

The Blast u19's are in a prestigious group.  The club has received hundreds of emails and texts appreciating the accomplishment from such a small club.  "The size of our club has made it much easier for us to maintain our D.R.E.A.M. Development philosophy," says executive director, John Michaelson.  "It is what truly makes us, No Ordinary Soccer Club."

Goals are set to return once again next year.  It will again take committed players and a lot of hard work.
